The Bryant Neighborhood
The Bryant Neighborhood is situated in the heart of south Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is bounded by East Lake Street to the north, East 36th Street to the south, Hiawatha Avenue to the east, and Cedar Avenue to the west.
The neighborhood area was incorporated by the City in 1887, and by 1930
it was fully developed. Today it is a residential neighborhood with
mostly single-family dwellings, interspersed with multifamily buildings
mainly in its northwestern quadrant.
The Bryant Neighborhood Organization
The BNO is a community group funded by NRP and NPC that serves the residents of the Bryant Neighborhood of Minneapolis. The BNO strives to:
- Create a community of friendly and open communication and cooperation between neighbors
- Stabilize and promote the integrated character of the neighborhood
- Improve the quality of housing and surrounding environment
- Lower the incidence of crime in the community and
- Determine the needs of the community and bring together community organizations and individuals relevant to those needs.
The BNO has a Board of Directors, consisting of residents from the neighborhood to serve to develop and facilitate various programs, projects, and events. The BNO holds open monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Minneapolis Urban League.

- Phelps Activity Council youth sports activities
- Metro Blooms Raingarden workshops
- South Housing Fair
- Newsletters
- ther events throughout the year: litter clean-up, garage sale, sledding party, holiday party, etc.
We are only as successful as the people who help serve, and we are always wanting to do more. Please contact the board if you have a little or a lot of time to contribute! We are always looking for new participants!
